If you don’t market your practice effectively, other therapists will get your clients. Being a good therapist is just not enough. Use LinkedIn to build your practice and cultivate referrals.
LinkedIn Foundation: convey to potential clients and referral sources how you can help.
LinkedIn Grow: run groups or have special skills? Get the referrals that you need.
LinkedIn Expert: help potential clients and referral sources think of you as an authority.
A free-ranging meeting with a LinkedIn marketing expert to determine what essential messages need to be distilled for your profile, who are your ideal clients, and who might be good referral sources. Thirty-minute online meeting held within six business days of your order.
After the Brainstorm/Discover meeting we will provide meeting notes and key action points for follow-up.
Based on the Brainstorm/Discover meeting we will edit your LinkedIn profile. Edits typically include:
- Compelling headlines and key marketing points
- Speaking directly to the needs and pain points of potential clients
- Shift to a client-focused profile (more about how you help and less about you)
- Calls to action for potential clients
- Links and contact information on the profile
- Use of keywords for consistent messaging and to help you get found
Often we will edit and highlight parts of your education, experience, and skills that are most likely to “touch the buttons” for potential clients.
The edits will present special programs that you offer (such as parenting groups or psychoeducational assessments) as well as niche practice areas (such as eating disorders, social anxiety, substance abuse, PTSD).
We will provide feedback on your choice of photos. Optionally, we can use other images that you have available on your website or Psychology Today.
A script for initial contact request. Build your network of connections to potential referral sources.
A script for relationship building following the initial contact request. This is not a sales pitch! This script may include questions or an invitation – all in an effort to move towards a trust relationship.
Acting as a member of your practice, our LinkedIn expert will reach out to potential connections and start the work of developing your referral network.
Going beyond connections, our LinkedIn expert will send out scripted messages tailored to individual contacts. In addition, we can like, comment on, and ask questions in groups and other locations where potential referral sources gather.
Two significant authoritative content articles (300-500 words each) that help establish your credentials as a thought leader and an expert in niche areas. Each article will be published under your LinkedIn account with a professional cover image, will link back to your website and/or professional profile, and will be SEO optimized. The content of each article will be determined in the brainstorming/discovery phase and will be based on the notes from brainstorming/discovery.
Get started using LinkedIn to build your practice. How long will it take?
Week 1: as soon as you place your order we will need to schedule the brainstorm/discovery session. We will schedule your brainstorm/discovery session within six business days.
Week 2: we will complete the profile makeover and create the scripts for connection and relationship messaging.
Weeks 3 and 4: we will work on building your network of connections and start cultivating relationships.
Weeks 3 and 4: we will prepare the significant authoritative content article.
Do I need LinkedIn Premium for making connections?
We suggest that you get LinkedIn Premium for the first 30 days that we work on your project. Often, LinkedIn offers the first month free with no obligation to continue. If you do not have LinkedIn Premium we can use our own accounts to find connections, but less will be accomplished.
During the project, we will get more done for you if we have direct access to your LinkedIn account.
Can you be blatantly commercial on LinkedIn?
At its core, LinkedIn is about career development, professional connections, and knowledgeable discussions. LinkedIn is not for hard selling your practice. Being too pushy will damage your referral network. LinkedIn marketing requires a light touch to get the results you want.
What should you be doing on LinkedIn Groups?
Join LinkedIn groups that are useful and frequented by your target audiences. Groups allow you to:
- Gauge what really concerns your target audience
- Join the conversation by commenting and offering constructive suggestions. You may be able to message fellow members of your groups, even if you aren’t 1st level connections.
If you have a specific enough focus, consider creating your own LinkedIn group. Once your group is set up, start prospecting the members of related groups. If you can get a significant number of potential referral sources in your group, where you control the agenda, you are in the ultimate position to shape the dialog with your prospects.
